Sick! I like how intense the main riff sounds, what songs did you sample for this?
God Knows from ”The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya”
I heart Dahlia
thank you xanxoepico my beloved
I will admit I did know about this remix from GD initially, but I did watch the Titanomachina animation with it today... It was bloody amazing!
Sick stuff dude! I love those crispy vocals :0
Makes me wanna space out and listen...
Seriously though, great work to everyone! i'm glad to have participated once again, it was a pretty fun thematic and gave me some room to experiment once again!
Pretty fun remix, I loved the original so this one's just as good! And I agree, you could definitely make some more cool disco-ish tracks
I'm glad to hear your spring semester's going well too :)
Thanks man! Both are genres I love to death, I feel like both are really good ways to let go of "serious" musical expectations and just have fun with goofy lyrics.
Things are looking up! I'm very excited to post everything I worked on this semester. :D
That was sick! I like the idea of making something specifically for 29th of February as well. Here are some thoughts I have:
The first part kinda reminds me of NES era OSTs that get remade for a GBA remaster, keeping some of the old beepy instruments while adding new ones too.
The switch up after is pretty cool too, and the drum n bass part at around 1:50 is very enjoyable as well, my only thought on it is that the distortion on the kicks might be too much, but it may just be preference.
The cowbell part is interesting, but the detuned sound of them does get odd at some parts.
The rock part after is a bit weak in my opinion, the rhythm guitar hits a bit soft compared to the drums I feel.
Overall, pretty cool concept and song, good work!
Totally agree on the rock bit not being great, I was rushing a little bit at that point to make sure it would be done in time for my self-imposed deadline.
As for the dnb kicks, that's probably just because I prefer louder kicks. When I'm in FL I find that I can't make out my kicks very well even after sidechaining it to the bass so I ramp up sometimes excessively. I'll have to bear that in mind in future.
Personally I like the detuning in the cowbell part but I can see why you might not do. I can see how that part could have done with some more work though.
Thanks for all your feedback!
